PORTLAND — A local physician has been placed on a year’s probation as part of a consent decree with the state Board of Licensure in Medicine and the attorney general’s office.

The Oct. 11 action against Dr. Geeta Godara was announced in an Oct. 19 press release, and is “based upon her engaging in unprofessional and fraudulent conduct.”

The board found Godara “was dishonest in her communications with two medical facilities where she practiced,” and said she has lost her privileges and appointment to medical staff at two unidentified hospitals or practices.

Godara was also reprimanded and must hire a workplace monitor, get counseling and comply with a “behavioral monitoring agreement,” according to the press release.
