Local soccer players compete in Senior All-Star Game

The 26th annual SMAA/WMC soccer Senior All-Star Games were held Tuesday at Westbrook High School. In the girls’ game, local players included Cape Elizabeth’s Sierra Aceto and Sarah O’Connor, Falmouth’s Tyler Spence, Greely’s Jocleyn Mitiguy and Maggie Reed and North Yarmouth Academy’s Emily Baker on the WMC team and McAuley’s Chelsea Rairdon, Portland’s Chessa Hoekstra, Scarborough’s Mary Farnkoff and South Portland’s Mary Cronin and Baleigh Burns on the SMAA squad. Waynflete’s Todd Dominski and Yarmouth’s Josh Thornton coached the WMC team. In the boys’ game, the WMC squad featured Freeport’s Nathan Smail, Greely’s Jacob Nason and Austin Nowinski, Waynflete’s Milo Belleau and Willy Burdick and Yarmouth’s Walter Conrad and Topher Pidden. Waynflete’s Brandon Salway and Yarmouth’s Mike Hagerty served as coaches. Playing for the SMAA were Cheverus’ Mackenzie Hoglund, Jake Tomkinson and Andrei Bile, Deering’s Matthew Alvarez and Christian Castaneda, Portland’s Bobby Brittingham, Josh Irving and Erick Molina-Garcia, Scarborough’s Nick Lorello and South Portland’s Kervens Anthoine, Gary Maietta and Ahmed Suja. South Portland’s Bryan Hoy was one of the coaches.
