South Portland announces first day fall practice schedules
The start of the fall sports preseason is just over two weeks away, Monday, Aug. 15. South Portland High School has announced the first-day practice schedule as follows:
Cheering – 2:30-4 p.m. Meet at front of the gym.
Cross Country – 8-10:30 a.m. Meet at locker room entrance.
Field Hockey – 8-10:30 a.m. and 2-3:30 p.m. at Wainwright.
Football – 7:30-10 a.m. and 2:30-5:30 p.m. at high school practice field.
Golf – TBA, check the athletics website for updates.
Boys’ Soccer – 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. at Wainwright.
Girls’ Soccer – 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Wainwright.
Volleyball – 5:30-8 p.m. in Beal Gym.
Full preseason schedules are available at the athletic website.
In order to tryout/practice, student-athletes must have all participation forms and proof of a current physical examination on file in the athletic office.

The Maine Amateur Hockey Association is seeking officials. Signups for new officials begin Aug. 1. FMI, usahockey@refereemaine.com or usahockey.com.
