Run for Hope upcoming
The 10th annual Run for Hope, a 5K road race and 1k fun run for kids will be held May 14 at Catherine McAuley High School. The race was started by McAuley graduates Claudia and Justine Pouravelis to honor their late parents. All proceeds go toward scholarships for McAuley students. FMI, 797-3802 or mcauleyhs.org/RFH.
Purple Madness benefit 5K upcoming
The Purple Madness Walk, Run or Roll 5K around Back Cove, to benefit Deering HIgh School’s Project Graduation, will be held Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m., across from Hannaford Supermarket. Registration is $20 in advance, $25 the day of the race. Kids 10-and-under are free. T-shirts will be given to the first 50 adult registrants.
