Solid results continue for SMCC

Southern Maine Community College’s golf team placed second to Paul Smith’s College at the season-ending Yankee Small College Conference championship, held last weekend in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Grayson Waterman shot an 18-hole round of 77 to earn the top individual score. Seawolves coach Dennis Leaver was named YSCC Coach of the Year. The women’s soccer team advanced to the conference semifinals by virtue of a 1-0 home win over Unity in the quarterfinals. Sarah Clough had the goal late in regulation. SMCC goes to New Hampshire Technical Institute for the semifinals Saturday. The men’s soccer team beat St. Joseph’s of Vermont, 1-0, on Harrison Charwat’s overtime goal, in the regular season finale last Wednesday. The Seawolves earned a bye into the YSCC semifinals, Saturday at NHTI.

St. Joe’s hosting shooting clinic

St. Joseph’s College’s women’s basketball team, under the direction of coach Mike McDevitt, is conducting a shooting clinic for girls in Grades 3-9 Sunday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Center at St. Joe’s.
