SMCC hoops teams continue strong starts
The Southern Maine Community College women’s basketball team improved to 4-0 with a 66-42 home victory over Navy Prep Saturday. Alicia Ruth led the way with 13 points. The Seawolves are idle until Tuesday when they go to Dean College. The men’s team improved to 5-1 with a 63-61 home win over Navy Prep and a 98-91 home victory over North Essex CC. Timothy Dixon had the winning basket and John Morgan led SMCC with 16 points in the victory over Navy Prep. Morgan had 11 points and 15 rebounds and Dylan Silvestri added 19 points and 12 boards in the win against North Essex. The Seawolves go to Unity College Wednesday of next week.
