Falmouth hires new boys’ lacrosse coach

David Barton has been hired as the new boys’ lacrosse coach at Falmouth High School, replacing Mike LeBel, whose contract was not renewed after he led the Yachtsmen to the Class B title last June. Barton most recently coached the Edward Little boys’ team and is the President-Elect of the Maine Lacrosse Coaches’ Association. Barton played in Duxbury, Massachusetts and was a goalie at the University of Vermont. Barton teaches in the Auburn School District.
“Coach Barton is a great fit for our athletic department and the direction we’re heading,” said Falmouth athletic director James Coffey, in a press release. “He brings great experience to the program and his philosophy fits perfectly with the direction of the athletic department. We’re extremely excited about his future here.”
