Kyle Mitchell of Navigators of Auburn competes in the annual Special Olympics Maine Cumberland County Unified Bocce Team Tournament Friday, Dec. 2, at UNUM Life Insurance Co. in Portland. Sixteen teams – each made up of two athletes and two non-Special Olympics partners – competed, and UNUM provided lunch and refreshments. As an added treat, athletes were able to decorate Christmas cookies, create Christmas stockings for guests at Preble Street, and write Christmas cards to military personnel.
