TOPSHAM — With less than a week before the deadline for filing nomination papers, elections for the Board of Selectmen and School Administrative District 75 Board of Directors still had no candidates.
Papers must be returned to the office of Town Clerk Linda Dumont by the close of business on Monday, Sept. 22.
Seats now held by Selectmen David Douglass and Ron Riendeau are up for grabs. Douglass, of Foreside Road, submitted papers. Riendeau and former Town Clerk Ruth Lyons have taken out papers, according to Dumont, but had not returned them as of Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, three School Board seats are available: incumbents Jane Scease of Western Avenue and Jeffrey Wolkens of Meadow Road have submitted papers, but no one had submitted papers for the seat held by James Conners.
