Musicians attend festival
The following South Portland High School students were selected for the District 1 Honors Festival and performed this month at the Honors Music Festival held at Noble High School in North Berwick.
District 1 Honors Jazz Band

Graduated with honors
Traci Lauren Yackulic of Scarborough has been awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education/pre K-4 magna cum laude from Kutztown University.
Meghan Elizabeth Farrell of Scarborough graduated cum laude with a degree in nursing from James Madison University during commencement exercises Dec. 19.
Safety first
Arielle Karageorge of Scarborough was recently been inducted into Rho Sigma Kappa, the Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences honor society at Keene State College. The purpose of Rho Sigma Kappa is to honor members of the Safety Studies profession who distinguish themselves through academic achievement and exemplary character, to foster scholarship and promote student leadership, and to contribute to the advancement of professionalism in safety.
