SOUTH PORTLAND — Children from southern Maine will perform in a variety show fundraiser to raise money for the cancer research.

“Perform For A Cure” will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the South Portland High School Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for raffle/concessions.

The show is the brainchild of 15-year-old Rachel Friedman of Portland, whose mom, Hanna Friedman, has battled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma three times since 2000. With the help of family and friends, Rachel has raised more than $40,000 for cancer research and community programs in the last seven years.

The show will include dance, musical theater, vocalists, musicians, martial arts and more. Call 671-8857 for tickets, www.performforacure.org.
