SMCC men stay undefeated

The men’s basketball team at Southern Maine Community College improved to 4-0 after Saturday’s 81-79 home win over Berkeley (NYC). Josh Tuplin had 29 points off the bench to spark the victory. The Seawolves looked to improve to 5-0 Wednesday when they visited Bridgton Academy. Saturday, SMCC hosts Vermont Tech and Wednesday, it plays at Unity. The women’s squad fell to 2-3 after recent home losses to Berkeley (68-38) and Navy Prep (84-64). Against Berkeley, Amira Jones had 12 points and 18 rebounds. In the loss to Navy Prep, Jones had 16 points and nine boards, while Jennifer Genthner added 12 points. The Seawolves host Vermont Tech Saturday and go to Unity Wednesday.
