SMCC men’s team’s win streak ends

The Southern Maine Community College men’s basketball team saw its six-game win streak come to an end Saturday with an 82-70 home loss to Dean College. Alexander Hartford and Atencio Martin both had 16 points in defeat. The women handled visiting Unity College in a makeup game (113-23) and defeated visiting Dean College (74-65) to improve to 14-7 overall (9-3 in conference). Katherine Cyr had 23 points to help beat Unity. In the win over Dean College, Amira Jones and Abby Nielsen both had 18 points. The Seawolves (17-2 overall and 12-0 in the Yankee Small College Conference) hosted New Hampshire Technical Institute Thursday and visit the University of Maine-Machias Saturday.
