Former Boston Bruins greats to play in all-star game

Former Boston Bruins standouts including Kenny Linseman, Ken Hodge, Andy Brickley, Bobby Beers, Don Marcotte, Frank Siminetti and others will face local male and female high school all-stars Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center. SPNLL seeks umpires

Portland Porpoise offerings

The Portland Porpoise swim club is offering a high school prep program this spring for swimmers who wish to continue their conditioning. Training will focus primarily on stroke technique and drills and general aerobic conditioning. The session runs April 25 through June 22. Practices are Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m., and Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m., at the Riverton Pool in Portland. There will also be open assessments and registration for new swimmers through May at the Riverton Community Center in Portland for children ages 6-8 interested in competitive swimming.
