Laurine German of the South Portland American 11- 12-year-old softball team slides safely into home against Milford, Conn., during the regional tournament in Albany, N.Y., last week. South Portland American finished fourth in the tournament, going 3-3. The District 6 and Maine state champions went 3-1 in pool play, then lost 4-0 to Milford in the semifinals and 11-2 to Pequannock, N.J., in the consolation game.
