SOUTH PORTLAND — The city’s Economic Development Committee is seeking nominations for the city’s Business Awards Program.

Nominations are being accepted for New Business of the Year, which honors a new addition to the community; Business Leader of the Year, for an individual who has set a lasting precedent for success and innovation; Small Business of the Year, for an organization with 25 or fewer employees; Business of the Year, to recognize a business with more than 25 employees that has profoundly improved and strengthened the business community, and the Santo “Sam” DiPietro Community Impact Award, recognizing an individual, business, agency, organization, community or nonprofit that has gone above and beyond to make South Portland a better place to live, work, and do business.

Winners will be announced Nov. 28. Nomination forms may be found on the Business Awards page of the city’s website and are due by the end of the day Friday, Oct. 19. They should be emailed to Michele Howard at the city manager’s office at mhoward@southportland.org or mailed to P.O. Box 9422, South Portland, ME 04116.
