SOUTH PORTLAND — Three men were arrested Wednesday afternoon in a prostitution sting near the Maine Mall.

Police said Robinson Rich, 25, of Cape Elizabeth; Willard Putnam, 56, of Windham, and Thomas Kahl, 64, of White River Junction, Vermont, responded to an ad posted on social media and were baited to an undisclosed location near the mall, where they allegedly were willing to exchange money for the services of a decoy prostitute.

All three were charged with the Class E misdemeanor crime of engaging a prostitute.

The South Portland Police Department was joined by the Gorham Police Department and the Homeland Security Human Trafficking Task Force in the undercover operation, according to a South Portland press release.
