SOUTH PORTLAND — Texas Instruments has announced it will provide $150,000 in multi-year “Power of STEM” grants to the South Portland and Portland school departments.
The three-year grants will be split between the state’s two largest school districts to support a science-technology-engineering-mathematics academy for students in both cities. The program will focus on minorities and girls, according to a press release.
Additional grants totaling $70,000 are being made to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, Learning Works and the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance.
