SOUTH PORTLAND — The Police Department has begun crafting its updated strategic plan, a compilation of short- and long-term goals for improvement over the next five years, and is seeking input from the community, according to a press release.

For the first time, the survey for residents is available online. It asks residents to rate their experiences with city police and rank the significance of community problems like graffiti, traffic, drug abuse and break-ins.

This is the city’s third strategic plan; prior plans took place in 2004 and 2009.

The department hopes to have collected all surveys by June 20.
