SOUTH PORTLAND — A Gorham man faces possible jail time and the loss of his vehicle after his arrest in the Maine Mall parking lot early last Saturday.

South Portland Police Lt. Frank Clark said Bradford Lacy, 41, of 23 Maple Drive, was stopped by Sgt. Adam Howard near Philbrook Avenue around 12:35 a.m.

After a roadside investigation, Howard charged Lacy with operating under the influence, operating after his license was revoked for being a habitual offender and violating conditions of release. Lacy was also wanted on outstanding warrants in Portland for aggravated assault and assault, Clark said.

Lacy has been convicted of driving under the influence three times since 2011 and was convicted of operating after suspension. His license has been suspended seven times and he was not eligible to seek a license reinstatement until July 2018, Clark said.

Because of his record and his “and due to Lacy’s demonstrated threat to public safety by his continued non-compliance with the law,” Clark said South Portland police are seeking the forfeiture of Lacy’s 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. The Cumberland County district attorney’s office is reviewing the case.
