A spurned love

9/5 at 2:40 p.m. Police were called to Thomas Knight Park for a bicyclist reportedly struck by a vehicle. The male victim told police that his ex-girlfriend, Jami Dixon, 20, of Scarborough, intentionally ran him down while he was biking along Waterman Drive. As he tried to call 911, Dixon got out of her car and allegedly assaulted him in an attempt to get his cell phone. Dixon was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, domestic violence assault and violation of bail conditions.

More road rage

9/6 at 8:55 a.m. Officers were called to the Wright Express parking lot off Gorham Road for a report of an incident of road rage that resulted in a hit-and-run. Police said that, after some exchanges between the drivers, the suspect allegedly passed the victim’s vehicle and then slammed on the breaks, causing the victim to strike the suspect’s PT Cruiser. The suspect reportedly drove towards the Maine Mall, but the victim was able to get a partial plate number. After investigating, Officer Steven Connors arrested Joshua Nowlin, 28, of Portland, on charges of operating after suspension and leaving the scene of an accident.
