9/26 at 8:53 p.m. A 17-year-old was arrested on Davis Street by Officer Kenneth Cronin on charges of violation of probation and being a missing or run-away juvenile.

9/27 at 12:21 a.m. Tyler Vercoe, 31, of Scarborough, was arrested on the Turnpike Spur by Officer Seth Page on a charge of operating under the influence.

9/27 at 1:19 a.m. Derek Locke, 31, was arrested on Broadway by Officer Thomas Simonds on a charge of operating under the influence.

No drunk uncle

9/28 at 3:25 p.m. Police were called to a Cash Street residence, where a mother reported that a drunk man had entered her yard and tried to play with her two young children. The woman said she prevented the stranger from picking up one of the children, but the man continued to insist he be allowed to play with the children. When told to leave, the stranger allegedly shoved the woman after she threatened to go get her husband. James Swaka, 30, was arrested on charges of assault, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. 

Follow the money

9/29 at 12 a.m. A man whose wallet was stolen on Sept. 4 called police to report that his credit cards were being used to make numerous purchases in South Portland. While developing a list of subjects, Officer Jeffrey Caldwell received a search warrant for an apartment on Grant Street in Portland. When Portland and South Portland police searched the home, some of the stolen items were recovered. Royce Guptill, 24, of Portland, was arrested on charges of theft by deception and misuse of credit identification.
