Just for kicks

11/19 at 12:15 a.m. Police say a man upped the ante in charges against him by getting rough with an officer. Officers responded to a call for a man acting “out-of-control,” on Holden Street. When they arrived, they tried to arrest him on a charge of disorderly conduct, a Class E crime. Police allege the man, David Kenney, 18, of South Portland, kicked Officer David Stailing during the scuffle, resulting in an additional charge of assault, which carries twice the maximum punishment of the disorderly conduct charge if he is convicted.
