5/2 at 12:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of a man with a handgun walking on Broadway between Evans and Lincoln streets. Police located the 19-year-old man on Cole Street and determined the firearm to be an air gun. Corey Swiger, a transient, was summonsed for possession of a toy gun.

Facebook nets alleged assailants

5/7 Police were called to Red Oak Drive to investigate an alleged assault that occurred the night before. A 12-year-old girl said she arranged to meet an acquaintance shortly before 9 p.m. But when the girl arrived, a boy and a girl known to her jumped out of the bushes and allegedly punched and kicked her, resulting in scrapes, abrasions, bruises and a broken cell phone. References to the assault were posted on Facebook and retrieved by police. A 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were summonsed for assault and criminal mischief.
