Inside job

6/1 at 5:30 p.m. Police responded to a Maine Mall business for a reported theft. Store employees apprehended two boys, who allegedly stole $100 worth of purchases on a gift card they allegedly activated without paying for. Police said one of the boys worked at the store and the theft was noticed when his register was $100 short. The two 17-year-olds, of Portland and South Portland, were summonsed on charges of theft by deception.

Prying eyes

6/1 at 7:40 p.m. Police responded to a Marriner Street home, where a woman reported seeing two boys looking through the windows. Police located two 13-year-old boys, of Portland, who allegedly admitted to looking into the windows. Police said they were also in possession of two bikes that were on the resident’s porch. They were summonsed on charges of theft and attempted burglary.

6/4 at 8:37 p.m. Police responded to the Maine Mall, where an alleged shoplifter had locked herself in the restroom after reportedly taking $17.50 in goods and having employees try to apprehend her. When she came out of the bathroom, she resisted being handcuffed. Megan Bowser, 22, was arrested on charges of theft, refusing to submit to arrest and violating conditional release.
