7/3 at 12:39 a.m. Seth Miller, 23, of Portland, was arrested on Hobart Street by Officer David Stailing on charges of possession of marijuana and violating condition of release.

Hammer-wielding robber caught

7/14 at 1:15 p.m. A Portland man was arrested after he reportedly robbed Kim’s Alterations on Ocean Street, threatening the owner with a hammer and making off with cash. According to police, a witness saw the robber get into a vehicle on a side street and drive away. A Marine patrol officer spotted the vehicle on Spurwink Avenue after South Portland police sent out a description. Stephen Scala, 23, was pulled over and arrested on a charge of armed robbery
