Tip leads to drug bust

1/03 at 10:13 a.m. Police responded to a reported drug transaction in a Westbrook Street parking lot. Officers approached two parked vehicles upon arrival and determined that a transaction had taken place. Timothy Markley Jr., 25, of Falmouth, was summonsed on a charge of sale and use of drug paraphernalia. Timothy Markley Sr., 50 of Falmouth, was summonsed on a charge of furnishing Schedule Z Drugs. And Susan McKenna, 32, of Portland, was summonsed on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Cottage Road Fracas

1/03 at 8:10 p.m. Police responded to Cottage Road for a report of people fighting in the street. Upon arrival, officers confronted an unruly group of individuals allegedly still engaged in grabbing and pushing one another. Another person present, not involved in what police said was a fracas, claimed that he had been threatened by one of the young men. Three individuals were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and additional charges. Jamilshah Sayed, 19, of Portland, was also charged with criminal threatening and violating condition of release; Channoith Sok, 22, of Portland, with obstructing public ways; and Feroz Sayed, 24, of Windham, with violating condition of release.

Purse snatch foiled

1/8 at 12:50 p.m. An alert shopper foiled a purse snatching at the Maine Mall. The victim was having lunch in the food court with her family when she was approached by a woman, who allegedly slid the victim’s purse aside with her foot. Another female allegedly picked up the purse and ran away. Alerted by a shopper, the victim chased the alleged purse snatcher and was reportedly assaulted. Mall security ultimately detained the women. Catherine Terroni, 38, of Portland, was arrested on charges of theft and possession of cocaine. Miranda Snowdon, 24, of Bath, was arrested on charges of assault and theft.
