Unwelcome advance

4/16 at 4:47 a.m. Police were called to investigate suspicious activity. Two women alleged they were assaulted by a man they had just met. The suspect, Christopher Seidl, 25, of South Portland, was located at a nearby address and was issued a summons on two counts of unlawful sexual touching.

Absconded hound

4/17 at 10:44 a.m. Police responded to an animal complaint on Darling Avenue, where two people were reportedly bitten by a long-haired Dachscund. Police believe the hound dog “absconded” from the Portland Jetport several days before, and the people were bitten when they tried to retrieve the dog from underneath a parked vehicle. The dog was turned over to a local animal clinic.

Alleged sex crime

4/18 at 1:06 p.m. A woman arrived at the Police Department to report that she had been assaulted in her home by a man she knew. The 43-year-old suspect, Efrem Velez, of South Portland, was located on John Roberts Road and arrested on charges of unlawful sexual contact, domestic violence assault and obstructing report of a crime.

Window pain

4/19 at 2:47 a.m. Police were called to a Wermuth Road home for a reported attempted burglary. Upon arrival, police noticed that the uppermost pane of glass on a second-story window had been broken. Police took a criminal mischief report.
