SOUTH PORTLAND — The Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department will be offering two new ski programs this winter. The programs, which will be for children ages 6-18, will take place at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton.

Children in grades 1-5 are eligible for participation in the Sunday Lesson Program, a day program that includes a one-hour lesson and free ski time. This program will run from Jan. 4-Feb. 8, 2015. The cost for the six-week program is $425 and includes lift, lessons and transportation; rentals are $100 extra. Non-residents will pay an additional $10 fee.

The Monday Night Ski and Ride program is geared toward children in grades 6-12, and is intended for more experienced skiers. This program will run from Jan.5-Feb. 9, 2015. The six-week program costs $225 and includes lift tickets and transportation. Non-residents will pay an additional $10 fee.
