SOUTH PORTLAND — A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 28, in connection with an attempted armed robbery Tuesday night in a parking lot off Western Avenue.
Christopher Muise, 25, of South Portland, was charged with robbery, a Class A crime, and an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant for a previous charge. He was held at the Cumberland County Jail and slated to appear in court Friday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m.
According to police, Muise allegedly approached a woman who was sitting in her car outside Buffalo Wild Wings at about 11:40 p.m. and used hand motions that indicated he wanted her to hand over money. He then allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun, but fled when a another restaurant patron approached the vehicle.
Muise was found Wednesday afternoon near the Redbank neighborhood, but fled on foot when approached by police. He was arrested hiding in an attic of a residence at 37 Wainwright Circle West.
