SOUTH PORTLAND — Victoria Morales, D-South Portland, defeated her Republican opponent, Christopher Hoy, for a seat in the House of Representatives representing District 33.
Morales received 2,636 votes, while Hoy trailed with 906, according to unofficial results.
The seat, held be Independent Rep. Kevin Battle, encompasses the portion of the city north and west of Broadway and Main Street.
Hoy did not actively campaign for the seat.
