SOUTH PORTLAND — The School Board on Jan. 9 unanimously approved up to $290,000 in two contracts for the upcoming $41.5 million high school renovation.

Carl Cooke of Frontline Construction Services will serve a 33-month stint as owner’s representative. He will be the School Department’s eyes and ears during the project, with responsibility for oversight, finance and all other construction matters.

The board also approved an $80,000 contract with Sparhawk Group, of Yarmouth, for commissioning of the project.

The commissioning agent is responsible for checking that all installed systems in a construction project are operational.
