SOUTH PORTLAND — City licensing administrator Jessica Hanscombe was named Deputy Clerk of the Year by the Maine Town and City Clerks Association on Sept. 9 at their annual meeting in Waterville.

The award recognizes a MTCCA member whose work “goes above and beyond” the job title and who shows commitment to improving their community, according to a press release from the city.

Hanscombe was hired by the city in 2011 after having held the same position in Lewiston for 13 years. She completed her second year at the New England Municipal Clerks Institute this summer and teaches classes for the MTCCA.
