SOUTH PORTLAND — Dr. G. Paul Savidge’s medical license was placed on probation after the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine and the Maine Office of the Attorney General entered into a consent agreement that resolved two complaints regarding Savidge’s prescription and medical record-keeping practices.

The agreement also imposed a reprimand and assessed a $1,000 civil penalty on Savidge, who practices in South Portland.

According to the state, during his probation Savidge must limit his controlled substance prescribing to buprenorphine products, an opioid used to treat opioid addiction and acute pain; successfully complete additional medical education regarding prescribing, addiction medicine, and medical record keeping; and employ a Board-approved practice monitor.
