Ryan Soucie, who served as Cheverus’ boys’ basketball assistant coach for four season, was named the Stags new head coach last week. Soucie, who played at the University of Southern Maine and also served as an assistant coach at Scarborough High School, inherits a team which reached the Western Class A quarterfinals a year ago, losing to South Portland. Soucie is a Caribou native who lives in Windham.
“I’ve been lucky with coaches lately and I think I have a gem,” said Cheverus athletic director Gary Hoyt. “I think he’ll be great.”
