BRUNSWICK — Wednesday’s snowstorm caused town officials to cancel board and committee meetings scheduled for the evening.

A public forum on next year’s school budget was postponed to Feb. 26, forcing the School Department to push back other meetings and change the overall schedule of budget deliberations, School Board Chairwoman Michele Joyce said.

Joyce said a revised timeline was expected to be released on Thursday.

The snowy weather also forced the cancellation of a Marine Resources Committee meeting, which is likely to be rescheduled within the next week, Marine Resource Officer Dan Devereaux said.

Devereaux said the meeting will consider a proposed 21-42 percent reduction in the number of clam harvesting licenses, based on a recent survey that found diminishing softshell clam populations in local mudflats.
