PORTLAND — With numerous snow days this winter, including two last week, the Portland Public Schools could be in session well into June to make up the instructional time lost, according to Assistant Superintendent of Schools Jeanne Crocker.

Crocker said she would present a plan at this week’s School Board meeting that proposes keeping students in class through June 21, with the last teacher day on June 22.

The plan assumes no more weather-related closings, and would fulfill the School Department’s obligation to provide 178 student days without going into the last week of June, Crocker said in advance of the March 20 board meeting.
