NORTH YARMOUTH — This year’s Distinguished Citizen Award winners, brothers Norman L. and the late Donald W. Smith, will be honored at the town’s annual Fun Day celebration on Saturday, Aug. 28.

A tribute will be held at the Village Green bandstand on Route 115 at 9:30 a.m.

Norman Smith was town clerk and has been a member of both the North Yarmouth Fire Department and a committee for the North Yarmouth School Fund for more than 60 years. He has also served on the Budget Committee and Board of Selectmen.

Donald Smith, who died last December, was known widely as a hunter and helped establish the Future Land Committee. He was also a longtime selectman and charter member of the North Yarmouth Fire Department. He started Little League baseball in North Yarmouth and helped to form School Administrative District 51.
