SOUTH PORTLAND — A new Nursing Club at Southern Maine Community College will send a group of students and faculty members on a humanitarian voyage to Peru in August.
In Peru, the group will provide medical care to the community at a clinic in the city of Cuzco. The trip is planned in collaboration with Hands Across the Americas and Partners for World Health.
The group is responsible for paying for the trip, and the Nursing Club plans to hold several fundraisers. The largest is a silent auction and spaghetti dinner to be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Root Cellar on Washington Avenue in Portland. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children.
