CAPE ELIZABETH — Construction of the 2.2-mile Shore Road Path is scheduled to begin next week, Town Manager Michael McGovern announced June 8.

Construction of the path extending from Fort Williams to Ocean House Road is expected to take between 90 and 120 days, and traffic on Shore Road will occasionally be delayed or reduced to one lane, according to a letter by Public Works Director Robert Malley.

There will be a temporary halt to construction in early August for preparations for the annual TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K road race.

Cape Elizabeth-based L.P. Murray & Sons is the contractor.
