SCARBOROUGH — Shirley L. Kean, 84, died July 9 at Maine Medical Center.
Daughter of Joseph and Mary Carroll, she was born and raised in Winchester, Mass., where she graduated from high school in 1944.
On Jan. 6, 1946, she married Thomas Kean.
For more than 15 years she worked at J.C. Penney, and also performed in local commercials with her husband Tom.
She loved her gardens and walking along the beach.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Thomas Kean; seven children, Thomas V. Kean and wife Dorothy, James J. Kean and wife Laurie, Peter D. Kean and wife Diane, Carol Graham and husband Jay, Cynthia Miller and husband Warren, Christine Kean, and Cathy A. Ricker; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family members and friends.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 13.
Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
