SCARBOROUGH — Scott Wilson Norton, 53, died Sept. 19 from complications of Parkinson’s disease.   

He was born in 1956 in Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1974.

He attended the University of Maine at Orono, where he met his future wife, Lisa Oransky, in 1975. They celebrated their 30-year wedding anniversary this past July.

In 1978 he graduated from the University of Maine and began his career in truck parts sales. He worked for Portland Clutch, Maine Parts and Machine, O’Connor GMC, and finally at White & Bradstreet until he retired in December 2007 due to his health. 

A fun-loving dad to his son Nicholas, his favorite activity was coaching his sports teams. He was Nick’s biggest fan and they shared a very special bond.

He was always physically active and enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, skiing, biking and walking the Eastern Trail at Scarborough Marsh with his wife.

His father Stanley predeceased him in 2002.

Survivors include his wife Lisa; son Nicholas; two sisters, Bobbi and her husband Bob Farrell, Rachel and her husband Dick Blake, a brother, Stan and his wife Mary Norton; and his mother Glenice of Augusta.

Memorial services and a celebration of life were previously held.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough.
