Mt. Ararat student to
receive principal’s award
TOPSHAM — Steven Tringali of Topsham, a Mt. Ararat High School senior, has been chosen to receive the 2009 Principal’s Award, Principal Craig King announced Wednesday.
The Maine Principals’ Association sponsors the award, which is given to recognize a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout his years at Mt. Ararat High School, Steven has distinguished himself in the classroom, in student government, in band and in every aspect of school life,” King said. “Steven very much deserves this recognition.”
Tringali, King and other award recipients and their principals will attend an honors luncheon in Bangor on April 4. The luncheon recognizes the students by presenting an individual plaque and awarding five $1,000 scholarships named for Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the Maine Principal’s Association.
