Scarborough senior standout Wyatt Omsberg was named Maine’s Gatorade Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year Thursday. Omsberg was previously named all-conference, all-state, the Class A boys’ Player of the Year, all-New England and all-American. Omsberg, a 6-foot-4 midfielder, who came to Scarborough from Messalonskee prior to his junior year in high school, won state titles in each of his two seasons with the Red Storm and this past fall, had 19 goals and 12 assists. Omsberg will attend and play soccer at Dartmouth College next year.

“I’m really glad I came (to Scarborough),” Omsberg said, following the Red Storm’s state title victory back in November. “I couldn’t ask for anything more. The coaches do a really good job. The team works hard every day. That speaks well to why we’re successful.”
