Scarborough girls’ basketball standout, a first-team league all-star and the school’s Winter Female Athlete of the Year, has verbally committed to attend and play basketball at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Last season, as a junior, Briggs finished eighth in the Southwestern Maine Activities Association with 13.4 points per game, tied for second with 3.9 assists, had 2.8 steals per contest, finished fourth in the league by making 76.1 percent of her foul shots and tied for 10th in 3-pointers made. She also made the league’s All-Defensive team.
