SCARBOROUGH — Two parties kept police busy writing summonses for underage drinking on Friday, Aug. 23, although no arrests were made.

In the first incident, Police Department Sgt. Rick Rouse said an inadvertent 911 call, possibly by a party goer, brought police to a section of open land off Broadturn and Holmes roads at around 1:50 a.m.

Rouse said police found a bonfire burning behind homes on Merrill Brook Drive. As they approached the scene, youths scattered into the woods.

Initially, Scarborough residents Ashley M. Ronzo, 18, of River Woods Drive; Carly A. Hughes, 18, of Longmeadow Road; Michael A. Miller, 18, of Hemlock Circle; Will R. Lynch, 19, of Goldenwood Drive; Cameron S. Bowker, 18, of Summerfield Lane; Anthony J. Cofone, 20, of U.S. Route 1; Gabriella D. Casale, 19, of Pine Ledge Drive; and James P. Ek, 20, of Woodfield Drive, were issued summonses for consumption of alcohol as minors.

Ek’s brother, Adam T. Ek, 18, also of Woodfield Drive, was issued a summons for consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

Almost three hours after the party was broken up, additional summonses were issued on nearby Goldenwood Drive.

“Three more people wandered out of the woods,” Rouse said.

Scarborough residents Nikolai A. Pelletier, 18, of Black Point Road, and Eric J. Woodbury, 18, of Surrey Lane, and Macy A. Turcotte, 18, of Settlers Way, both in Gorham, were issued summonses on charges of consumption of alcohol as minors at 4:59 a.m.

At 11:45 p.m. Aug. 23, police responding to a tip about minors drinking at a party on Ferry Road issued summonses on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor to a 17-year-old girl from Orlean, Va.; Michael S. Horowicz, 18, of Montclair, N.J.;  Joseph H. Doyle, 18, of Glastonbury, Conn.; Christian A. C. Sampson, 20, of Brookline, Mass.; and Scarborough resident Henry P. Wagner, 20, whose street address was not provided.

Tully R. Hannan, 20, of West Hartford, Conn., was issued a summons on a charge of allowing minors to possess or consume alcohol.
