SCARBOROUGH — State Sen. Amy Volk, R-Scarborough, announced she will seek re-election to a second term in Senate District 30.

Volk’s announcement comes a week after Town Councilor Jean-Marie Caterina announced her Democratic Party candidacy in the district, which includes most of Scarborough, all of Gorham and part of Buxton.

Volk was elected to the Senate in 2014 after serving two terms in the House of Representatives.

“It is a great honor to serve my friends and neighbors in the state Legislature,” Volk said in a Jan. 28 press release. “I look forward to working hard for them during the current 2016 session. Come summer and fall, my family and I look forward to another great campaign season, which I hope to keep focused on the issues that impact our communities.”
