Scarborough’s Tom Griffin, now in his 27th season with Southern Maine’s premier softball power, reached the 400-victory plateau Tuesday afternoon when the Red Storm defeated Portland, 14-2. Griffin, who only won a total of six games combined his first two years, has led Scarborough to seven regional and five state championships in his tenure and has the Red Storm looking like title favorites again this spring. Griffin’s 400-win total includes regular season and Maine Principals’ Association tournament victories and does not include Western Maine Conference or Southwestern Maine Activities Association tournament wins.

Scarborough’s players form the number 400 following Tuesday’s win.
