SCARBOROUGH — The Fiddlehead Center for the Arts is sponsoring a 5K run for adults and a 1K fun-run for children on Saturday, April 24, at 8:30 a.m. at the Clambake Restaurant at Pine Point.

The event aims to raise money for the Fiddlehead Center, a nonprofit organization that provides after-school arts, theater, music and science classes for children, as well as early childhood care, and some classes for adults.

The race will kick off at the Clambake and will proceed up Pine Point Road, wind through the neighborhood, and loop back to finish at the Clambake. It is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank and prizes will be handed out for winners in a variety of age ranges.

Interested runners can register at fiddleheadscarborough.org or by calling Kris Dorer at 883-5720. The fee for adults is $15 and for children under 12 participating in the 1K fun run, the fee is $2.
