8/26 at 12:53 p.m. Ashley M. Smith, 24, of Revere Street, Portland, was arrested on Gallery Boulevard by Officer Douglas Weed on an outstanding warrant from another agency.

8/26 at 11:58 p.m. Normand O. Berube, 71, of NE 28th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was arrested at U.S. Route 1 and Hillcrest Avenue by Officer Timothy Dalton on a charge of operating under the influence.

8/27 at 9:47 p.m. Jessica L. Taplin, 24, of Dutton Hill Road, Gray, was arrested at Gallery Boulevard and Payne Road by Officer Joshua Guay on an outstanding warrant from another agency.

8/28 at 1:22 a.m. Timothy L. Sanborn, 22, of Woodfield Drive, and a 16-year-old female, of Lisbon Falls, were arrested on Woodfield Drive by Officer Timothy Dalton on probation holds.

8/31 at 6:39 p.m. Vito J. Lavopa, 48, of Caleb Street, Portland, was arrested at Payne Road and Southborough Drive by Officer Benjamin Landry on charges of robbery and theft by unauthorized taking.

9/1 at 2:04 p.m. Michael P. Libby, 42, of Oak Street, South Portland, was arrested on Saco Street by Officer Cody Lounder on charges of unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs and sale and use of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant from another agency.

Follow that cab

8/30 at 1:52 p.m. After multiple computer thefts totaling $3,500 in value last month, staff at Walmart on Gallery Boulevard alerted police that a man and woman matching the description of suspects just arrived at the store by taxi. Video surveillance showed the man putting a computer into a cart and wheeling it from the store as the woman diverted the attention of a store greeter. Raymond Ireland, 31, of Countryside Court, Ellsworth, fled when approached. His companion, uncharged in the incident, left in a cab and was followed by police. Ireland got into the cab on Maine Mall Road, and was arrested on Payne Road by Officer Douglas Weed on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking.

8/31 at 1:10 p.m. A man reported the theft of seven fishing rods worth $420 from his boat, moored off King Street in Pine Point.
